I try to install FlexSim 2021.0.1 on a completely new notebook.
Started with the .exe but got an failure during the installation. So I used the .msi and it seems as if the installation was "succesfull" but now I get this as soon as I want to start FlexSim:
It seems like the issue is known, but I can´t find it on the forum. Can anybody give me the helping hint?
Here is a guess based on the opening splash failing on "Initializing OpenGL": with your brand new computer have you updated the graphics driver to the latest?
In addition to this, there are other suggestions in our startup/installation issues article, and in the graphics compatibility article. There is a chance that one of those could also make a difference.
Comment back to let us know if any of those helped solve the problem, or at least provides us with more information.

What I did and what seems to work was to install the 2020.2 and made an upgrade to the newest version. Since this point it works for me (almost allways-> *later more).
But thanks also for the hint to update my grafics driver, did this now also and also checked the topics you´ve mentioned.
* The failure still apears, if I try to open FlexSim while I´m on the Notebook via "MS Remotedesktop". Maybe you can find out why this happens?
Do you mean you are using a different client PC to connect to your new Notebook via Remote Desktop? FlexSim over remote desktop has always been problematic since support for accelerated graphics is generally lacking.
Are you using this solution from Nvidia to allow streaming graphics over a remote desktop connection?

If so, I suspect this may be related to something I had discussed last week with @Ralf Gruber? At any rate, we've never tested those Nvidia streaming graphics. Let us know if that is what you're trying to use.
I had heard of this new Nvidia solution for streaming graphics sometime last year and so passed the info to Ralf with the warning that we've never tried it. If you're trying it and it's failing we could at least add it to the dev list to request they check it out.
