Use 1 Source to create 2 types of boxes, and grab statistics separately?

Hi,

I would like to create Boxes and change their attribute. Following are my 2 examples:

1. Create 5 units Box A, item.Type = 1

Create 5 units Box B, item.Type = 2

2. Create 10 units Boxes, then I want 50% of them to be Box C, 50% Box D.

First question is: My setting in Source3 is: Set Label by Percentage > 50% value = 3 ; 50% value = 4.

I suppose Box C & D should then different in color, but they aren't.

Second question is: How can I grab the throughput of Box C and Box D separately? or I can only grab input of Sink3(sum of Box C + Box D)?

I tried to look for item.Type in Dashboard > Table > Options, but there only existSource.fsms Sources, Processors, Queues, Sinks.

Third question is what content means in FlexSim. Does it equal to WIP? As I can't find WIP in statistics.

Thank you!

Hello @Tzu Hsuan C,

I will try to answer your questions:

1. You need to add a new trigger using the label of the item (Set Color By Case for example). You only add a label now, but not color (except A).

2. You should use Output By Type dashboard.

I hope I have been helpful.

But I wonder in the case 50% value 3, 50% value 4,

why is the output still unbalance in throughput?

You have to differ between ratio and statistical distribution. You use a statistical distribution, then there is a deviation. There are systematical or random approaches to keep a ratio constant on a long run.

Examples are here

Hi, Jörg Vogel

May I ask how to keep a ratio constant?

When “Type” value

current.stats.output.value%2+1

is 1, the Object would be red. What about “Type” value = 2?

I don't quite understand how to create 2 types of item by not using by Percentage.

Thank you!
