Transfer still blocked after conveyor resumes

I am using a dashboard button and a motor to switch off a conveyor on demand, then switch it back on at a later time. When the downstream conveyor (blue) is off, the packages from the upstream conveyor that are trying to transfer (from the SIDE of the upstream conveyor to the START of the downstream one) are blocked, which is exactly what I want.

The problem is when I switch the downstream conveyor back on, the packages remain blocked and still will not enter the transfer.

Is there something I need to do to "nudge" the package and tell it to start the transfer?

I seem to be having a similar problem in other areas of the model when using a photo-eye to trigger a stop/start on a motor due to blockage, but it is not consistent.

I also have used the same technique where the transfer is from the END of the upstream conveyor to the SIDE of the downstream one, and in that case it resumes as expected and there is no problem. (For reference see conveyors IRC3_2B to IRC5_1.)

I will upload the model "CKrupp_conveyor_unblock_problem". The buttons/conveyors in this case are named "IFTN1_4 and IFTN1_4_Slide1".

Thanks

Hey @Claire Krupp, I'm taking a look at your model right now and will get back to you shortly on any findings. Sorry for the delayed response.

Changing the behavior of the transfer to act as an inline transfer (even though it should be a side transfer) solved the problem.

I suggest there is a bug in the way a side transfer works.

Hey @Claire Krupp, I checked out your model and tried making a smaller version with the same logic and got it working.

I decided to try deleting your conveyors and DPs and then adding them back. That seems to have fixed the conveyors.

Try removing your conveyors and DPs and then adding them back into the model.

I tried that with one of the conveyors, making sure the set-up was exactly as before, i.e. the transfer behavior was "side transfer". It did not work.

(I have an "AlwaysInlineTransfer" option, which I set as the default transfer, so that is probably what happened when you created the new ones.)
