Blank empty screen in 3d view on virtual server

IMG_20230411_172028.jpg

We are trying to run Flexsim on a virtual server but after installation when we try opening it, a blank empty screen in 3d view is seen.

So what VMWare driver do we need to use and what hardware specs are recommended? VMWare uses a virtualized graphics card, so there isn’t an Nvidia card to use like the article mentions.

You can add hardware graphics acceleration to your virtual server if you install compatible 3D hardware in your bare-metal host. See this guide from Vmware:

"You must perform certain preparation tasks on the Windows or Linux host system to use 3D accelerated graphics in a virtual machine."

Once the host is ready for 3D graphics acceleration, you also need to configure the virtual machine to use it:

Prepare a Virtual Machine to Use Accelerated 3D Graphics (vmware.com)

Jason's comment about the system requirements still applies. This is not a tested or supported configuration, but if it works for you, fantastic.

You can try running in compatibility mode (Global Preferences->Graphics) but virtual environments do not meet the recommended requirements (Note 2. in the link).
