FlexSim not working on my new computer (Video)

I bought a brand new laptop, with NVIDIA GEFORCE 940MX video card. I've installed Flexsim and I'm not able to drag any object from the library to the model layout.

As a reference, I also can't see the walking man in the setup screen when creating a new model. I'm suspiscous this has to do with my video card. Do you have any input on this? I appreciate any input.

An Nvidia Geforce 940MX should work well with FlexSim.

You probably need to update your graphics driver as explained in Graphics Compatibility - Common Problems and Solutions

You can see your graphics driver version on the Help > About FlexSim... screen:

The latest driver version for an Nvidia Geforce 940MX is 388.59.

Thankyou! Actually, I've already done all that is listed here (Even updating to FS18 now)... I'm still not getting it to work.

Hi! Yes, I can see the 387.92 version.

BTW, in FS2018 I tried changing the graphics settings to to "Generic" context... and now I'm able to work. Still, as I read, this should not be a permanent solution, Right? Does this help to know what is happening?

Thanks

You shouldn't need to use a Generic context. If you use that, then FlexSim doesn't use your graphics card at all. Instead it renders the graphics on the CPU, which is very slow and doesn't support shaders, bone animations, or shadows.

I'm surprised that you are having issues with such a recent driver. 387.92 is from October 9, 2017.

Try updating to 388.59.

Windows 7, 8, or 8.1: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/127667/en-us

If that doesn't work, please post your laptop manufacturer name, model number, and operating system.

I really appreciate all your help. I spent all Monday and part of this morning working with Nvidia´s Technical support. We ran all the troubleshooting they had available and they were not able to make it work either. The problem is not only in Flexsim, but if I try to use a game within GeForce Experience, it also does not work. In the end, I decided to return the computer and get a new one. Yet, I did not want to leave this discussion open without tanking you for all your quick advise. Thank you

Please post your About screen that shows the driver version. Also please post your laptop manufacturer name, model number, and operating system so we can look up information about it in order to know why it is not working correctly.

You can also get more information about your system by pressing the windows key, typing "dxdiag", and then pressing Enter. This will open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window, which has a button that says "Save All Information.." that you can push to save that information to a flat text file. If you attach that file, we might be able to determine what is wrong with your system and how to fix it.

Are you running Windows directly or are you using some sort of virtualized environment (Citrix, remote desktop, VMware, etc.)?

We need more information about your system in order to know why it isn't working correctly.
