problems with graphics card when recording videos

Hi, when using the flexsim video tool the system closes suddenly, sometimes it shows a blue screen indicating video card problems. I just purchased a computer with an nvidia gtx 1050 graphics card, apparently it had not been updated for a long time. Since I started using it I have had problems with different applications including flexsim.

Hi @Brian R2,

Could you post a screenshot of your Help > About FlexSim popup? It will have info regarding graphics hardware and driver version.

Also, there is a new 19.0.2 bugfix version. I don't think it will do anything for you on this particular problem, but it may be a good time to upgrade.

Finally, is your new PC a desktop or laptop? The updated graphics driver you'll want to try will differ based on this:

Hi @Ben Wilson,

At the moment I do not have a screenshot of the problem, Flexsim simply closes or in some shows blue screen with VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR.
Currently, I did the upgrade to Flexsim 19.0.2, but the problem persists.
Finally, it is a notebook, but now I put all these specifications in NVIDIA drivers, likewise, I have changed the driver version several times but none works, I currently have 419.17.
Thank you very much for answering.

Hi @Brian R2,

Sorry I wasn't more clear. The screenshot that would be helpful can be found by:

  1. open FlexSim
  2. from the main menu, choose Help > About FlexSim
  3. a window will pop up in the middle of your screen
  4. please capture a screenshot of this window and post it to this question

This will allow us to be certain that FlexSim is using your Nvidia adapter, and not the Intel integrated graphics that notebooks usually have in addition to Nvidia.

Hi @Brian R2,

It appears that FlexSim is set to use the Nvidia hardware, and the hardware has the latest driver.

The error you describe definitely seems graphics related. This quote from your question seems especially pertinent:

Since I started using it I have had problems with different applications including flexsim

There is the chance that the hardware is faulty. I've seen, and personally experienced using a glitchy, error-prone graphics card. Even though it was the same graphics card model as others in our office, using the same driver, it constantly displayed graphics artifacts and experienced crashes.

Did you purchase your laptop new? In that case you may be able to contact the seller or manufacturer for warranty service.

I'm guessing based on your quote "apparently it had not been updated for a long time" that the computer had already been in service when you acquired it? In that case your options are more limited. If you have access to another computer from which you could capture your video, that might be the best option.

Given the information we have at this time, that is my best guess as to the situation. This article talks about faulty graphics cards and possible fixes. Besides updating graphics drivers, which you've already done, the only fix that might apply to a notebook computer is "Cool It Down". You might try blowing out your computer casing, fan vents, etc. with compressed air to see if you can increase the airflow to cool down your computer.

Let us know if any new information comes to light.

Hello @Ben Wilson, The notebook is new, I am already in the process of validating the warranty, I will keep you informed if I find any solution. Thank you.
