Is it now possible to control AGV orientation on paths (not just back/front)

Hi all,

In my application, I need to move AGVs in a vertical axis but without using elevators; easy enough to do with paths but of course the AGV orients itself vertically when on vertical paths. The question had been asked before but going back a couple of versions with no working solutions.

Wondering if there is now a way to do this. My only alternative is to put elevators everywhere and hide their visuals, but that will only get me part of the way there.

Thank you

Hi Charles, why can't you use elevators? In reality, isn't the AGV using some type of "elevation system" which would be represented in your model by an elevator?

Hi @Patrick Cloutier,

I could but as I mentioned above, it would create some artificial limitations in the system. Until the orientation is put as a parameter (maybe as part of the Path parameters?), I think I'll be able to work with the suggestion from @Joshua S.

Thanks

Currently there is not a way to do this, since it locks itself onto the AGV path. Only other idea is to have a small AGV object that follows the path, then have a main shape included in the object as a subnode/child, then add a control point at either end of the 90 degree turn that flips the child object to the correct orientation so you get the visual you want.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Hopefully the orientation will be an option in future AGV module
