Create a separate thread in FlexSim that keep accepting requests over sockets

Can I create a separate background thread in FlexSim that keep accepting requests over sockets? From this post: https://answers.flexsim.com/questions/42601/control-flex-sim-through-scripts-remotely.html I think serveraccept might be the solution. Where can I find an example of using this function? Or I would appreciate if someone could point me to a better solution.
