People Module: Chose an elevator between different bank of elevator

Hello,

I am facing a problem in the decision of which elevator should my patients (from the people module) take.

Do you have any idea of how I could assign a specific elevator between many elevators bank?

I tried many options, like putting the elevator bank into a group of "equipment", "transport",... and then assign it (for example transport with) but none of them recognize the elevator as a part of the people module.

So far they are taking the nearest, and even though it's not always the case (it looks like random).

I need to precise that both of my elevators are connected from the same grid of departure to the same grid of arrival, but one will be available only for the staff and the other one might be taken from both staffs and patients.

Thank you in advance,

BR,

Daniel

@Daniel Z4

Could you attach your model so that we can see what the specific problem is?

If the elevators are for different people then I would make separate elevator banks.

You could also put a conditional barrier around the elevators that only allow through staff or patients.

I wanted to share this topic with the entire community, I can't post my model in public but if needed then I will do it in private.

Thanks for your answer, I can see a way to do it, but it won't solve my problem at this stage. Moreover, it looks like that my patients are flying to a specific elevator whatever barriers I put to surround them. But that might be a second phase of the problem, let stay focus on the choice.

To resume the situation, I have already two banks of elevator.

One is specifically for the staff and the other is specifically for the patients BUT might also be used by the staff depending the situation.

I'd like to be able to assign the elevator as a resource or something like that. It might come from a "list", an "equipment", or whatever. But the problem is that now we never specify the usage of an elevator as a mandatory step in the movements of the people...

Any idea?

The elevators are designed to basically be a part of the A* navigator. So that when you tell a person to go to Bed3 which is up two floors, the person knows to go use the elevator without you having to tell the person to first go to the elevator.

Hello,

To be honnest, that does not help me at all.

I attached a model which should show you where are my difficulties.

In this model, even though I surrounded the elevator with barriers, the patients can still use it to go to the final destination. From what I can see at this point, it that everything is linked to the location of the final destination. If you move the queue 9 nearer from the ElevatorBank1, then they will use it. But it is not effecient... Even sometimes, they are teleported to the final destination (I do not have it on that specific model)

If you can find a solution to force all of them to use the ElevatorBank1 and make sure that the system can still be flexible for certain conditions (for example, a patient in a wheelchair could use the ElevatorBank10) it would be awesome! Thank you very much :D

You need to add a condition to your barriers so that some people can cross the barriers while others can't. Just putting barriers around the elevator makes it so that no one can use that elevator.

Another problem you were having was that the barrier was too close to the front of the elevator and so the people could get in the elevator when they shouldn't be able to.

See the attached model where I put a condition where only people with a Type label with value of 2 can ride the top elevator.

Awesome, thank you!
I can go a bit forward with that :D

I tried to implement it on my model, unfortunately there is another thing that is not working. Currently, my patients are jumping into the queue without using the elevator.

I can't share the model here. I don't think that it is needed to open a new private topic... Could you please write me an email at:

Like that, I will be able to share it with you?

Thank you very much!

Have a great weekend!
