Combiner Output Item

frxfileserv1dncpersonal-foldersrobert-flatteryflex.fsm

I am having trouble controlling the output from the combiners in my simulation. I would like my first combiner, "Press 1", to output my FlowItem "Press 1 Product". Press 2 should output Press 2 Product and so on. How do I control the flowitem output from a combiner? Thanks.

Hi @Robert F2,

I'm not sure I understand the process correctly just by looking at the model. What I've gathered is that there's some sort of assembly happening (clutch drum, piston, etc.). What I don't understand is the flow of the combiners. Is there a particular order that's supposed to be happening? I guess the reason I want to know is so I understand your question. You mentioned wanting to "control the flowitem output". Does this mean you want to choose what item is taken out of the combiner? Or do you want to rename/assign a label to the item leaving? I think if you could explain what operation is happening at Press 1, the parts involved, the order, etc. it will help me to provide an answer. Thanks!

I've included just a simple model to better explain what I am looking for. So a Pallet,cylinder, and sphere enter the combiner but a pallet exits on the out going conveyor. How do I set the finished product of the combiner to be a Box so that a Box exits on the out going conveyor?

@Robert F2

Thanks for attaching the simplified model. It helped me make sense of the problem.

All I did to achieve this functionality was add 2 triggers in the Combiner1 properties. One changes the object's 3D shape to be a box and the other adjusts the size of the box to something more accurate than a flat pallet shape.

Alternatively, you could destroy the original 3 items and create a new one that is just a box, but I think going the first route would be best as you can keep labels and statistics the same across the process.

Hopefully this helps! combiner-output-item.fsm
