Raw Data for Dashboard Metrics

In flexsim hc, it is possible to use the dashboard to get metrics on patients, items, resources, and locations. However, I wish to do further analysis in other software like Minitab. Is it possible to get the raw data from the dashboard? For example: The dashboard allows me to get the average, min, or max length of stay of a patient in the system. However, to do further statistical anaylsis, I would need to get the individual length of stay for EACH patient. Is this possible and can it be done with other types of dashboard metrics?

As a second part, is it possible to get the individual result from separate replications? This time instead of getting the overall average for LoS over all the replications, get the LoS for each replications.

In summary, is it possible to get dashboard metric data per patient/item and per replication?

I direct you to two different options for dumping raw data out to a file for 3rd party software analysis. Both options are accessible through the Statistics menu.

The "Output Raw Data" opens up the following window for you to select which data you want to export. Hover your mouse pointer over the various checkboxes to learn a little bit about what data will be exported.

The "Export Dashboard Data" option opens up the following window for you to select which data you want to export. In the left pane of the window you will see all the dashboards you currently have created in your model. This data is not very "raw", but is simply the numbers displayed in whatever chart it's associated with. However, the data mentioned in the right pane is ALL the data collected by the software and does not require any dashboards in your model in order to access it. It is very "raw"! ;-) I suggest you use a small model such as the tutorial model to play around with and get used to the various data output by these two data export options. Incidentally, the raw data associated with any user-defined Data Collectors in your model will also appear as export options in the right pane, so if none of the standard raw data tables give you what you want, the Data Collectors could be used to generate the data you're interested in getting.

This is a lot of data. Thank you. It gets me my data for a single run and then for the multiple runs through experimenter. Is there an option however to combine the multiple replications into one file? Either in one tab or multiple tabs if needed?

The "Export Dashboard Data" option will export everything (including all replications of all scenarios in an experiment) into a single Excel file. If you have the box checked that says "Export to CSV", then it will export to separate files; otherwise it exports to a single Excel workbook with multiple sheets. Be prepared to wait a long time after an experiment for the export process to complete (up to 30 minutes in some cases I've experienced). You also will need a lot of RAM for longer runs and/or experiments. For this reason, I usually opt to write to separate CSV files, and only check the boxes of history files I'm expressly interested in.
