In the attached model, the patient is not releasing the exam table upon exit. If there is a companion, that companion will release the chair upon the exit.

You're releasing the exam table with a different token than the one that originally acquired it. If you check the Label Access on Parent Only option on the Split activity then the new child token it creates is considered a "proxy" of the first token and can acquire and release resources as if it were the original token. I did this in the attached model.

Alternatively, you could change the rank of the output connections from the Split activity so that the original token goes to the Release Exam Table activity, but then it would make it so the Release Staff MD wouldn't release the MD.
