Problem getting patients from the Source file

In converting this model, I have run into a problem getting the patient from the Arrivals file to come into the model. I have the feeling that is something very simple but I still can't see it.

I'm enclosing the model and the Excel file.

Thanks for your help.

Tee

Hi @Tee Hiett,

So I took a look at both your model and import file and think I have found the source of your issue. First, in order to properly import into a Date-Time Source Table in FlexSim the first two time columns need to be formatted as Text. So in the excel file, these columns need to be set as text and then have the date passed in. Once that is done then you can properly import it into the model using the Excel Import/Export.

Unfortunately, since you have already imported the table into FlexSim with the wrong formats for the time columns the source will no longer work properly. You can tell this by opening the Date-Time Source in the Arrivals Flow and see that the columns are greyed out and set to "Read Only". There is not way to undo this by just reimporting. You will have to deleted the source and recreate it, which means you will also have to recreate the import in the Excel Import/Export as well.

I have made all of these changes in the attached files. Hope they help.

Also, just as a side note, if you do try to run it currently you will still not see physical patients created yet because of your Debug Decide that requires a PCI value of 1 or 2 to create the patient. Currently your PCI column in the Excel File is blank.

Thanks, @Brittany Evans

I should have recognized that the input should be text when the small input box at the bottom of the screen for the Source table had the surrounding quotes already in it.

just to be on the safe side, would you be so kind as to give me the steps for deleting the Source table and re-creating it?

Tee

Hi @Tee Hiett,

All I did was disconnect your old source and delete it. Then I added in a new Date-Time Source and added the table to the Excel Import/Export. Once it is added, I removed the old import line and set it up to match the old one.
