FlexSim 2023 trying to access an External IP Adress.

When openning FlexSim 2023 in our Office Network, the software stops to respond as follows:

Accessing through VPN, the problem doesn't ocurr and looking in the connections that are made by the software we can see 2 external adresses wich aren't reachable when testing through our Office Network:

The Remote Adress started by "10." corresponds to our Internal Licensing Server. I would like to know if these external connections are mandatory, because didn't find it in the configuration tutorial. If so, we will need to ask for allowing it in our firewalls.

Start page communications are not mandatory.

See the section "online communications" of the following article for an explainer of the start page:

You can either let your firewall do the blocking on its own, or you can disable FlexSim's start page from attempting the communication.

To disable start page communications, go to File > Global Preferences > Dynamic Content tab. Uncheck the options for Check For Updates and Enable Start Page Online Content (the Enable Telemetry option should be off by default, but if not, uncheck that also). Click OK at the bottom of the preferences window. Then close FlexSim to save your preferences. Next time you open FlexSim the start page will not attempt online communication.

Hi!,

Thanks for the information, i disabled the online communications and now the software doesn't connects to the Internet, but i'm still having the issue (flexsim stops responding when openning). Are there any log files that i could see in order to help in troubleshooting?

Here is a list of suggestions to try to get FlexSim starting properly:

FlexSim installation or startup error - FlexSim Community

There is no log, but the Windows Event Viewer (suggestion 10) may lead you to a problem. The other suggestions are also worth trying.

If you have current maintenance, reach out directly to your local FlexSim distributor for phone or web help. It may be handy to do a web meeting with them to troubleshoot directly on your device.

Looking the Event Viewer, i can see the following TLS Error:

"A fatal error occurred while creating a TLS client credential. The internal error state is 10013."

Already enabled TLS 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 to test but without success. I'm going to ask my local distributor for support because we still have a maintenance valid contract.

@Arison,

Have you disabled all options under Dynamic Content? If not, make sure all these boxes are un-checked, then press OK and close FlexSim. Restart FlexSim.

What are you seeing for the results? FlexSim is crashing on startup? If so, are you even able to get to the Global Preferences screen? If not, I could send you a customized prefs.t file with all dynamic content turned off.

Yes, I have disabled these options. It crashes on startup and i need do kill the process.

It only occurs when connected directly to the company network, through the VPN connection, software works perfectly.

@Arison With all dynamic content features disabled, it must be the licensing piece that is crashing for some reason. I've never seen that happen before.

You could try one more suggestion of completely disabling the start page so it doesn't even come up. With all dynamic content disabled this shouldn't make any difference as far as network requests go, but it can eliminate one more possibility of crashing on startup:

On the Global Preferences > Environment tab, disable "Show start page when FlexSim opens". Then press OK and close FlexSim to save the new preference. Start FlexSim again to see if it made a difference.
