Operations error: 7109 Invalid activation ID

Hello,

After I upgraded my FlexSim to version 17.0 I cannot check out the license anymore.

I attached a screenshot with the error.

I upgraded license service software. My current version of lmtools is 11.14.0.1. But it didn't help.

I see some errors on the license server side as well:

16:23:38 (flexsim) UNSUPPORTED: "xmlsaveload" (PORT_AT_HOST_PLUS ) amuff@AMUFF-Z640 (No such feature exists. (-5,346:10054 ""))

16:23:38 (flexsim) UNSUPPORTED: "stochastics" (PORT_AT_HOST_PLUS ) amuff@AMUFF-Z640 (No such feature exists. (-5,346:10054 ""))

16:23:38 (flexsim) UNSUPPORTED: "nomodellimit" (PORT_AT_HOST_PLUS ) amuff@AMUFF-Z640 (No such feature exists. (-5,346:10054 ""))

And so on.

Any advise?

Thank you.

Hi @Alexander Muff,

Those are the things I would check first. If that doesn't solve it, I suggest carefully going step by step through both the 2017 migration guide and the lmtools configuration instructions to make sure that nothing else was missed.

Let us know how it goes so we'll know how to proceed.

If we need to share any license codes or other proprietary information, please DO NOT post that to this public question. Instead, start a new private question:

Hi @Ben Wilson Thanks a lot for your answer. I returned licenses and removed old license server. Upgraded and activated new licenses. Installed a new license service. Nothing helped. I sill have the same error. Any advise?

The error message in your screenshot shows you trying to active a server address as an activation id.

You don't put the server address into the Activate tab; you use the License Server tab.

Thanks @phil.bobo, I completely missed the fact that there was an image attached.

@Alexander Muff, please review the section Activate client PCs in the installation instructions for the proper steps to configure your FlexSim software installation to get a license from your license server.

Also, to check that your license server is properly hosting the licenses, see page 7 of the lmtools instructions, where it shows how to view the log file and make sure the features are there.

Hi @Alexander Muff

Sorry that didn't immediately solve it. Here is one that you didn't mention doing:

  • Did you change the FlexSim_License service (or whatever you may have called it) to run as a user with the proper permissions? (see instructions page 6).

If that doesn't solve it, then I'm out of ideas and we'll need to make arrangements for a web meeting where I can look over your set up with you.

@ben wilson and @phil.bobo thanks a lot for you answers.

Do I need a new activation ID with 2017? Or can I use the original from when we purchased the software?

You need to have a 17.0 license to use any of the 2017 releases.

2017 update 1 is in beta, and if your maintenance is current you can upgrade your license all the way to 17.1 to be ready for the latest release. Looking at our records of your license, it appears that you have already activated your 17.1 license, so you should be set.

For a primer on FlexSim version numbering, and how licenses match up with FlexSim versions, please see the document FlexSim version numbering.
