Hi
May I know how to define the floor dwell time? From my observation, the shorter is the value the faster is the patient going into the elevator and Visi Versa. Why is the dwell time affects the speed of the operator?
Thanks

It sounds like you are expecting the dwell time to limit the number of people who can enter the elevator, but it doesn't. Only the Floor Space limits the number of people. The Dwell time just defines how long the elevator sits at each floor and the patients are moved in as fast as necessary to make sure they all get in. Note that you can have the Dwell time vary by the number of people entering and exiting.
Thanks. That is what I thought for the dwell time. I did experiment with different value such as 2 min, 0.1 min, the speed of the patient enters actually different. Please check the model attached.elevator-capacity.fsm
Based on my observation using Step, if the dwell time is 2 min, the patient will take 2 min to get into position for elevator ready to move. So there are more than 1 patients coming in at same time, the total dwell time will still be 2 minutes before the elevator ready to move. And if the 10 patients come in at an interval of 0.1 min, the first patient will take 2 min to get into the elevator and the rest of the 9 will also take total 2 min to get into lift and ready to close the door.
So the Floor Dwell Time does affects the traveling speed of patient (at least the first) into the elevator.
