Location Downtime Setting for closing the beds

Hello,

I am working on an ED model where certain section of the ED beds will be closed to accept new patients at certain hours of the day. However, if there are patients arrives before that time they will continue to be treated in that space until the treatment is completed and they will be discharged. During treatment, some of these patients will be escorted to diagnostic testing area and come back to the same bed shortly. We want to make sure they can come back to this same bed after the area is closed to the new patients.

I am using shift schedule for this purpose. Can you please recommend what option in Shift Schedule - Quick Properties - Advanced - Down Function that I should select to make sure this will work properly?

Make sure you are using the latest version, and then choose the option to stop input flow. You also need to use the latest version of the Patient Destination option that tells the patient to return to their reserved location even if it is currently off schedule and has stopped inputs. I don't believe the earlier versions of these two options handled cases where the locations went down after the patients had temporarily left for diagnostic testing as you described. I'm answering this from the road and don't have my computer in front of me to give more detailed descriptions than this, but I wanted to get you an answer, because it looks like you've been waiting awhile. Let me know if you need a better answer than this, and I'll try and provide more detail. I'm sorry your question fell outside our radar for awhile there!!

No problem @Cliff King we are in the slow holiday month here. I just used some of my downtime to follow up on some simulation work this time.
