In the attached model (the right side model with the elevator), why isn't the AGV following the path to go back to queue2 when coming out of the elevator? And why the weird "dance" move?
Thanks a lot,
In the attached model (the right side model with the elevator), why isn't the AGV following the path to go back to queue2 when coming out of the elevator? And why the weird "dance" move?
Thanks a lot,
Attached is your model with the changes that I made to the "Right model" process flow. Is this how you wanted it to work?
Yes that's correct. But I'd like to understand. You made changes to the names to make it clearer but the only REAL change is adding the Move shuttle into model. Correct?
Wasn't the shuttle in the model all along? Why does it need to be moved into model? Because it's an elevator? What if it was a conveyor instead of an elevator?
Yes, you are right. I changed the names of the "resources" to make it clearer. I added the PF block "Back out of elevator" to show the Shuttle backing out of the elevator. Then because the Shuttle is "in" the elevator, it needs to be either "unloaded" as it was "loaded" into the elevator or it needs to be "moved" out of the elevator, somewhere. As there wasn't really an "unload" object to be unloaded to (another elevator or another object) it should be unloaded/moved back into the model itself. When it is moved back into the model, it is moved to 0,0,0. So the "Mover to NN57" PF block moves it back to the network node that is next to the elevator. Then the next PF block has the Shuttle travel back to Q2.
Does that make any more sense now? It really doesn't matter whether the Shuttle was loaded/moved to an elevator, conveyor, processor, whatever, it has to be unloaded/moved back out of that object. Eventually (hopefully) back into the model (where it originally was).
Yes that's perfect and makes perfect sense ! Thank a lot Jeff !
