Simple ASRS Model

Simple ASRS Model.fsm

Hey FlexSim Community!

I recently gained access to FlexSim and we are using it to complete a few projects in our plant. I've gone through a few of the different tutorials and downloaded a few models online to try and best learn how to use the software.

I need some pointers on the model attached. I am trying to use an ASRS to put pallets onto a rack from a processor and and grab pallets of the rack and move them to another processor. I cannot seem to get this part of my model to work. Instead the rack simply begins being filled instead of using the ASRS.

Can I get some pointers and advice on what I am doing wrong in hopes of better learning the software?

@Austin S,

Great question. In an object's properties under the "Flow" tab, there's an option called "Use Transport". You'll need to check this box (as shown below) to call a transporter to move object. You can specify in the field next to this box which transporter you'd like to use. If there's just going to be one, like the ASRS vehicle in your model, you can leave it as "current.centerObjects[1]", as this will just utilize the first center object (connected by S-connect) of that object. If there are many different transporters available, you can either push to a list for transporters to pull from or use a dispatcher that can send the work out to available transporters.

Hopefully this helps. I've updated your model and attached it here.

Awesome thanks Tanner. I figured it was something simple but like I said I'm still just learning how to use the FlexSim tool.

Also I saw that you're a FlexSim employee. I found an error in one of the tutorials. Who should I reach out to help get that fixed?

Thanks so much for your help!
