Vaccination Drive Through using waiting lines?

Covid-19 Hoover Met.fsm

Hoover Met Vaccine SITE.pdf

After reviewing this related posting, I don't see how that method would work in my case. I'm trying to modeling another covid-19 vaccination process but this model is for a process involving vaccinations in automobiles. I am going to use patients provide some estimate of the major questions they have. Of course, The process will actually walked through on Tuesday and started started on Wednesday.

There are 10 lines for the automobiles in the model and I want the patients that go through waiting line 1 in screening to stay in waiting line one for the vaccination. If the waiting line 1 for vaccination 1 has 10 cars in it, I want any car in Line 1 for screening to stay there until it can go to the waiting line 1 for vaccination. As soon as a space becomes available in line 1 for vaccination, any car wafting at the station 1 for screening will go to waiting line 1 for vaccination

Is there anything you can suggest to replace the waiting Lines? I've also enclosed a layout of the parking lot selected for this process. So, somewhat similar, to the auditorium model you helped me with, the major question is are there enough spots for the Observation segment. The initial model we developed for the auditorium gave the planners great confidence that the system would work — and it did very well.

In retrospect, I should have explained this need in healthcare and asked you if FlexSim would be interested in developing a generic sort of model for this vaccination process which is being carried out all across the US. But unfortunately, I didn't think of it.

Thanks for all your help

@Tee Hiett

Take a look at the attached model and let me know if you have any questions or it's not what you wanted.

@Matthew Gillespie WOW! I'm impressed. It's taking me longer to understand what you've built than it took you to build it.

In case you do work on some weekends, I'm posting a couple of points. Occasionally, when I start the model the cars get stuck at the activity Acquired Registration.

I have no estimate for the time for Registration and when Debbie Flint started questioning the planners about the details of Registration, they took this step out and will start the process with the Screening Activity.

Another point, this is a fast-moving Process aiming for some 1200 vaccinations daily. The time for Screening is 2 minute.

There are 2 Vaccination stations in each line. These stations are in-line and cars will only stop at one station. Incoming cars will go to the last available station. This means that the car going to the second station can't leave until the first station is cleared. The time for vaccination is 3 minutes.

The observation time is 15 minutes. They feel good about these times as they did for the Auditorium Model and that worked out well.

Thanks for your help. If you have any questions, please send me a message. I will be working on the model.

@Tee Hiett I've updated the model to have two rows of vaccination spots and used the processing times you specified.

I also saw what you were talking about with the Lane resources sometimes not being able to be acquired. So I switched the resources for global lists that do the same thing.

@Tee Hiett Here's a changed version that does two inline vaccination stations.

I've used standard process flow lists, while there might be a solution using healthcare/people activities.
