Merging slug lanes without curved conveyors

In the attached model I've modified the example model from this answer. I removed the curved conveyors between the slug lanes and the conveyor they're merging onto since the system I'm simulating doesn't have curved conveyors like that. But now I'm seeing some weird behavior:

Why doesn't this work?

FlexSim 16.0.1

slugmergeerror.fsm (21.4 KiB)

When you're merging slug lanes like this you need to make sure that conveyor transfers are inline transfers and not side transfers. Here's a visual of the difference between the two (the bottom two lanes are inline transfers and the top is a side transfer):

The inline transfers smoothly load the entire slug onto the conveyor, but the side transfer moves each box on individually - first loading it horizontally until it reaches the center of the new conveyor and then letting it move along the conveyor.

By default, a transfer will only be inline if the angle between the conveyors is less than 45 degrees. This angle can be changed in the transfer type properties:

In summary, you'll need to either move the slug lanes so that there's a smaller angle between them and the other conveyor or you need to increase the max angle for inline transfers in the transfer type properties such that the angle of your conveyors is considered an inline transfer.
