Trigger issue (Crane / Transporter)

Dear all,

I have some questions about a model I want to make in Flexsim. First of all, I am busy with an internship of optimizing processes on the landside of a terminal. Inbound trains are loaded from the stack with tug masters. The stacking crane is an automated crane, which starts moving when a tug master driver confirms that he arrived at this particular stacking crane.

My question is: How can I trigger the crane to start loading when a tug master driver has finished his loading at the train? I know that I need to use the OnMessage trigger for several objects, but I don't know exactly how. In this case there are several tug masters which are driven by a dispatcher. The crane in my model is the Automated Stacking Crane and the sink is the discharge place at the train.

Kind regards,

Roan

@Roan DJ2 I'm not exactly sure what is what in your model but if you close the output of the queue (use the open and close port option of the onentry trigger of a queue) the crane will not move the entering item until you open the output port again. You could open the output port when the tug master has arrived on a location for instance with a message in the tasksequence or the onresourceavailable trigger.

I would also advice you to take a look at process flow. Especially in these kind of processes this could help your modelling a lot.
