AGV trailer moves off AGV path

Hi All ( @anthony.johnson )

I have a problem with the AGV network. I have some load attached as trailer, and the AGV (train) is moving backwards. This means that the wagons are pushed by the train. The train needs to stop at a control point to fill the wagons. The wagons however are not at the path:

When the AGV starts moving again the wagons jump to their correct location.

How can I work around this problem? My actual model is in 17.0, but I assume that if there will be a bug fix for this problem it will be in 18.0 and no longer in 17.0.

Attached is a small example model with this problem. agvtrailer.fsm

Many thanks for any help,

Patrick

The issue is that the AGV Nagivator doesn't know what path to send the trailers, so it chooses to line them up along the path that the control point is on.

Imagine the setup looked like this:

Which path should it align the trailers along? This situation has 5 potential choices instead of 2.

In choosing which path to align the trailers along, it chooses to keep them on the path they are on rather than arbitrarily choosing a different path. So you get the behavior you are seeing.

You can use a curved path to align the trailers closer to how you want:

That way, when it aligns the trailers down the path it is on, they end up in the direction you want them.
